About Space Maker

Dougald McLachlan, who has over nineteen years of industry experience, co-founded Space Maker Self Storage in January 2000. The company was founded on the principle of providing a high quality product at good value for the consumer.

Nick Mackley, Chief Financial Officer, is a chartered accountant with over 21 years experience half of which has been in the self storage industry.

Patricia Welsh: Associate Director of Operations and Human Resources. Ms. Welsh worked alongside Dougald McLachlan at Abacus Self Storage and at Access Storage Solutions for 11 years prior to joining Space Maker in 2001. Her duties encompass all aspects of self storage operations and personnel. Candidates for employment should send their CV’s to Ms Welsh.

Phil Clarke: Senior Centre Manager. Phil joined Space Maker in 2001 when he opened the Colchester centre. Phil continues to have operational responsibility for Colchester while overseeing the Chelmsford, Romford and Portsmouth centres.

Fatmira Skura: Management Accountant. Fatmira joined the company in April 2008 and is responsible for preparing the management accounts.

Yogatharsiny Shanthakumar: Accounts assistant. Yogatharsiny joined head office on 9th October 2008 to assist with the accounts preparation and accounts payable.
